v1.5.1 - Relics and Spells and Clans (oh my)!


I feel like I've been promising Relics for ages now, but the day has finally arrived! We're starting out with just 4 relics for now, as I want to introduce things gradually to make sure I don't completely disrupt the game balance. The first round of relics are Charms, one for each Clan, which allow you to combine with only 2 minions instead of 3 within that clan (more on this in a minute).

The great news though, is I've decided to introduce another big thing the community has been asking for ever since day 1: spells that can be cast during the waves! No longer will you sit and helplessly watch your minions get slaughtered, but now you can can cast spells while you watch you minions get slaughtered! As with Relics, I've again started with just 3 spells to choose from and will be gradually introducing more.

Going back to Clans, this is probably something most people weren't aware were even in the game, but it's always been a part of things behind the scenes. Minions belong to 4 distinct clans: Damned (imps and other demons), Corrupted (goblins, orcs, gnolls, and so on), Enchanted (shoorms and other woodland creatures), and Undead (zombies, vampires, etc.). Since these are now affected by Relics, you'll see a small icon on the edge of minions cards, as well as a colored border around their image, so you can tell which is which. Expect to see clans become even more important in the future, and the observant may even notice that each of the 4 different level designs matches one of the clans.
